SINGER-SONGWRITER
I’ve been composing for as long as I can remember.
I learned to read music while taking piano lessons as a kid and composed either by writing music, recording and overdubbing using two separate cassette players or by programming my C64 computer. My first real recognition as a songwriter came when my funk-rock band Wee People placed second in a national band contest called “Rock 96” in Oulu, Finland in 1996. Later on – to my surprise – I placed second in the Finnish National Finals to Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with an original tune called “Deck of Cards”. I released an album of originals with the aforementioned Wee People in 2006 and appeared in the ESC Finnish Finals again on 2007.
Nowadays I receive songwriting credits mostly through my work as a producer-engineer. Finnish Composers’ Copyright Society Teosto has me listed as a contributor on over a hundred titles.
